Meet Volunteer Opportunities, Duties, and Descriptions

Announcer:
U.S. Diving normally supplies the announcer for all championships. However, it is a good idea for the meet host to have a back-up announcer for emergency purposes. The announcer will announce during all contests, including opening introductions and award ceremonies.

Registration Table Workers:
One or two persons should staff the registration table, which is open all three days prior to the first event - all day. These people should check off each entrant when they register, collect entry fees, hand out registration packets and goodie bags (if available) and make sure all coaches and divers are registered members of U.S. Diving.

Hospitality Are Workers (2 people):
These people should make sure food and drink are available to participants, keep the hospitality area neat and clean, and limit access to the area by unauthorized personnel.

Runners (at least 2 people):
These volunteers can be young people in charge of carrying drinks to judges and table workers. They will be assigned to do "go-fer" work.

Table Workers (3 people per event plus one backup):
These volunteers must have the ability to follow directions, work under pressure, and easily and accurately calculate numbers.

Ushers, Ticket Takers, and Deck Marshals:
These jobs are self explanatory and require a number of people relative to the anticipated size of the meet and expected attendance.
