the Rookie of the Year award at the State
Championships in 1990-91.
Sherman earned two all-state awards, four
all-conference awards, and was undefeated in two
dual-meet prep seasons during his career at Osseo
Sr. High School. He set a six-dive one-meter
all-time record with a score of 262 and was named
the first team captain in his team’s history. In
the offseason, Sherman continued to train for Twin
City Divers and earned four State meet first-place
finishes and earned gold on both one- and
three-meter at the Thunder Bay Invitational.
In 1994 Sherman began his collegiate career at
Gustavus Adolphus, but took his freshman year away
from the boards to concentrate on academics.

without a coach for two years in the MIAC and won
all by one dual meet. Continuing a trend, Sherman
was also the only team captain at Gustavus where he

three-meter boards. He qualified for Nationals each
